We had our after camp party last night and it was alot of fun. The two guys I’m most heavily invested in, Kevin and Turner, each came with their moms and it was really nice to have time to actually talk to them and share the kind of stuff we are doing at Turpin. It was a really good time for everyone involved to come together and celebrate an awesome year of ministry and eats lots of food. Turner’s mom actually came straight from work so she still had her scrubs on. She is a nurse in the ICU. She talked to me for about 20 mins about how they need to make nursing uniforms more stylish. She wants more options for prints and colors but her hospital makes the nurses always wear purple. I appeased her and acted quite interested and even seemed as upset as she was about the situation sometimes. The high school girls that came couldn’t stop talking about how they wished the party was Hannah Montana themed. They were even about to run out to target and buy hannah montana party favors to give out. Luckily we convinced them not to or the whole night may have been destroyed. Also, I got to see one of the committe members who is about 5 or 6 months pregnant with their second kid. I really like that couple and they help us out a ton and it is awesome any time I get to see them at all. It was a really fun evening that I think really helped build those relationships with the parents that are so important to the ministry.
